Yakushima Beach // Open

[Once you enter through the door with an obvious yellow scarf tied around the doorknob, you'll find yourself on the soft, warm sands of the beach. This isn't just any beach, of course, but the beach at Yakushima! For now, the skies are clear of all clouds as the sun shines down and causes the clear, blue ocean to sparkle. It's really a gorgeous sight. ... Unfortunately, it's a private beach so there are no babes in bikinis, but Thanatos can hope that a few babes from the Mall will drop by so he can gaze upon their curves.

He's also currently setting up a small spot on the beach. At the moment it's just two beach chairs, one for Orpheus, along with a huge beach umbrella and a few towels. Thanatos seems really exited as he strips off his shirt so now he's only in black swim trunks with a pattern of little, white skulls. How adorable. ... He then pauses to look at a bottle of sun tan lotion. He remembers his Junpei once mentioning how girls liked it when they had it rubbed on their backs. Thanatos has a mission. For now, though, he's going to set the bottle aside and zoom off towards the ocean. THIS IS SO EXCITING, HE'S BEEN WAITING FOR THIS.

... Can Death even swim? Looks like we'll all get to find out as he splashes into the waves.]

Kicking some water at you now, because seriously. Was Minato's mind a huge desert or something?

I'm all right with just watching the waves like this with you.

[Oh no, he's getting splashed now! He laughs and splashes her right back. Hey, Thanatos passes really well as a human! He doesn't remember much about being in Minato's head, though. Just occasionally being shorter than he is now when he was Pharos.]

"You and your lines." she says, a small giggle escaping. A proper kick of water this time, facewards ho!

[Then proceeds to get salt water to the face. EW. It tastes gross when it gets into his mouth and so he spits it out.]

Victory! She laughs again, hand going up to fix her sunglasses back in place.

"Pick-up lines, Thanatos. I swear, sometimes you don't even realise you're using them."

Orpheus told me that once. I really don't mean to use pick-up lines! They just happen...!

[Oh hey, what's that? Thanatos dips his hand into the water right before a small waves hits his legs and pulls out a broken sea shell.] Whoa!

"Sure, sure." Does not believe you, obviously, but is curious! She leans forward slightly. ~~Hi there, bikini top.~~ "Whatcha got there?"

I... It's true!

[Shows her the sea shell he picked up from the ocean. ~~Thank Orpheus being female for allowing Thanatos to train himself not to bleed everywhere at the close proximity to breasts.~~] I've never seen anything like this before!

"Mhm."

She tilts her head slightly, looking it over. Blame her coastal living, but it just looks like an ordinary seashell to her. Though...this is his first time at a beach, apparently.

"Pretty, isn't it?"

Yeah, it's really pretty! It also looks broken, though...

"Mm, some of them are. People step on them, or they just get turned that way by the waves."

It's almost endearing, how excited he is. The coast has been a part of her life for that long that she barely registers how big the ocean is.

That's almost a little... Sad. You know? [Looks down at the broken shell in his hands.] ... I suppose that's just how life is.

"...I never really thought about it that way. It kinda is."

Surprisingly deep there, Thanatos.

"But it'll eventually become sand or coral again, y'know. Take its place in the sea in a different form."

Yeah, you're right. [Have a smile.

Then he peers down at the shell for a moment before he throws it back into the ocean with a splash.]

And we're over it? Uh, alright. Yukari turns to look at the ocean, hands behind her back again.

"Y'know, I'd forgotten how big the ocean could look."

[Looks at Yukari before he looks over towards the horizon.] Yeah, the ocean is huge! It really makes you step back and realize how small you are. Still... We're lucky enough to be looking at this ocean right now. We have enough importance to be alive.

"Yeah. It reminds me of everything we've done...everything we have left to do."

In fact, it was on this beach that Minato had come after her, talked her through it after she'd seen the video of her father. Hugged her. There's a special significance here, causing her to glance back at the dozing Orpheus.

What do you have left to do?

[Starts to become a little saddened once he notices her glancing over at Orpheus. Thanatos' couldn't help but doubt she would be so friendly with him if she knew the truth of what he was. ... What he would become known to her as.]

"Everything! Getting rid of the Dark Hour, moving on with our lives afterwards, even little stuff like the trip to Kyoto." she says. Her glance shifts sideways to look at Thanatos. "You know it was only a couple of days away before I got pulled here? Timing, huh?"

A small giggle and she shakes her head; she does know some of the big details, but part of her is still denying it. Ryoji's just a big perv of a guy in her world. He couldn't be all that.

"...anyway. There's far too much left to live for."

That's the spirit, Yukari. Life is so very precious! I know you'll get all of that and more. Hah, I still remember the Kyoto trip as fresh in my mind as ever...!

[Though don't ask me to talk about it. Otherwise, you heard about all that? ... I hope you can forgive me one day, Yukari.]

"Right." she nods. The opposite coast draws her vision, humming slightly under her breath as the water washes over her toes, delightfully cool. "Kinda sucks that I couldn't show up afterwards, though. I was really looking forward to that trip..."

Ask Minato how she reacted sometime. That'll be a fun conversation.

Haha...! I'm sure you'll enjoy the trip once you go back.

[If only you knew, Yukari... He's sure not going to tell you.]

"I'll bet! It'll be nice to go back to Kyoto...they have some great hot springs where we're gonna stay, I hear."

Hopefully Minato will do the sensible thing in her world and, you know, let them know they're still in the springs and avoid the whole incident.

[The hot springs were great, after all! ...Just if your Minato is smart he'll be able to hide from you all very, very well.]
